    Another Novice Question

I have a '64 coupe that I'm working with at present. All my gauges work but I have a different gauge than the ones I see in parts books. Instead of an Ammeter I have a Battery gauge. This is an early '64 is that the answer or do I have something entirely incorrect? Thanks for your input.

What parts books are you referring to? I have a early 64 Coupe vin #1059 and it has a battery gauge.

Terry, thanks for the answer. I'm looking at the ZIP catalog and LIC.I did see a battery gauge in Corvette Central but it was for a '65.

I'm no expert on C2's, this is my first. Have not even begun to do anything with it. If it was a C1 I could tell you for sure. Someone with way more knowledge than me will answer you. I just went out to the garage and looked, but who knows maybe someone switched mine too, or maybe the pictures are wrong.

Thanks again Terry. Maybe we will learn something together on this. Who knows, we could be right.

'63-'67 ammeters all say "Battery" on the gauge face.

                        Randy,
One way to tell if your gauges are correct, is if they have a flat black cone with concentric rings in the center of the gauge. This was a '64 only item. '63 gauges had silver centers and 65-67 did not have a conical center at all; they were flat faced.
