    Rex----

The original motor was GM #5047728. That was discontinued MANY years ago and replaced by GM #5044290 which was later replaced by GM #5044402. The latter part was finally discontinued without supercession more than 10 years ago.

However, this motor is the same as that used on SOME 55-56 Chevrolet passenger cars. I think I'd check with a 55-56 Chevrolet reproduction source like Danchuk to see if they might have a reproduction available.

As an alternative, if you could find a good electrical motor repair shop in your area, they might be able to fix it.

I took my '60 motor to a shop that repairs fans and they took it apart and fixed a broken wire. Might look in yellow pages under fans.

Just about any electric repair shop that's willing to fool with it should be able to fix it.
