    Weird C1 brake component...

I bled the brakes today, the first time I have done this myself in a while. The bleeder valve on the LF did not have a nipple on it, instead it had a screw hole with a small screw sealing it. I was obviously made this way, not by bubba. I don't remember this thing, but it has probably been in there for ages. Sound familiar to anyone?

        Dang!

I wondered about that, after I took a good look at it the screw has a tiny "L" in the middle, like some of the other "for-sure" original hardware. I can't decide whether I'm pleased or worried.

Mine on my original 55 are what you would expect to see and I right now have a yellow 55 in my garage working on a friends brakes and they are like mine. He is 82 and the original owner of this 55 Corvette from day one.

                Roy,

You should post some pictures of this car and don't forget to register it in the C1Registry (there are still so little number of 53-55 models)!

                greetings,
                Rob.

You did not say what year your car is but I had the same question a couple of weeks ago. The answer was my car ('62) was not supposed to have the sealer screws. I forget what year they stopped using them. Paragon sells them. search under my name to find response.
