    INTAKE GASKET CORK? 1957

    WERE THE BLOCK GASKETS FOR THE INTAKEE CORK ON THE THE ORIGINAL 57 ENGINES OR DID THEY HAVE THE GM MARKINGS

      Dan, I'm not sure about the markings, but I'm fairly certain they weren't cork. They were probably the same black fibrous material as were used on my 56. Steve

              the seals , on each end of the intake, which seal between intake and block, were rubber, not cork, and i'm fairly certain the had a square tab with GM embossed thereon. mike

                      Dan, Mike is absolutely correct - had I read your question closer, I would have realized you said block gasket. The seals at the head on the intake are as I described. Sorry, Steve
