Can anyone recommend a frame inspection / repair / replacement shop in the Michigan area. I have a 1960 frame which has been a good home for many generations of mice. The areas from the front leaf spring brackets to the rear of the frame sound? (are) weak. Bubba had patched both areas in the 70's (top, bottom and sides) and had removed the original strut rod brackets and welded in 4" channel. I would like to keep to an original frame, but is it possible to patch / section and retain original appearance and re-gain the required structural strength, as well as pass judging. If anyone can share their experience I'd appreciate it very much. This seems to be a major decision point at the start of my restoration project......driver only or pursue originality.
P.S. Are reproduction frames just functional replacements or is there someone making an original that would pass judging?
As always thanks in advance for your help.
