    -------Nobody seems to have mentioned that you will have to take the filler-neck off the tank to get it out. This only applies to coupes...........Bill S

        Helps with convertible tanks, also

        Surprised nobody has detailed just how tight this operation is. After removing the front tank support/strap attach member from the frame, it is quite a job to rotate the tank down/forward and the tank rear up and away to keep from bending the tank sender/fuel outlet nozzle and electrical connections on the rear frame X-member (assuming you don't intend to remove sender). I MIGHT have been able to remove the tank with the (shorter) filler neck of the convertible, but even with it off, the top forward edge of the tank rubs the rear fiberglass bulkhead. I tried first with the nozzle on, but it contacted bulkhead even before the tank edge became the next evident "restriction".

        Vive les 36 gallon cars !
