    C1 1958 Trunk Screws

I have a set of self tapping screws from Corvette Central to attach the rear trunk panel to the trunk. Are clips used under these screws? The existing holes are too large and if the screws are used as intended it appears that the holes mush be glassed in and re-cut. Also, I see from earlier postings that the side trunk floor panels are screwed in place using a black caulking. What is a good material to use for this? Again, thank you for your assistance.

Ken, my 1960 trunk holes were too big as well. I solved the problem by placing spring clips on the underside and then the self tapping screws tighten up. To fix it back the way it was, you will need to fiberglass over the holes and then drill pilot holes. Can't help on the black caulking.
