    C3 - 69 side exhaust

Am currently restoring 1969 big block with side exhaust. When I lifted the body (12 years ago) I didn't document how the fiberglass insulation was attached. Could somebody please explain how the insulation is attached or secured or however it is assembled. I would greatly appreciate some insight. Thanks

Do you have the assembly manual? My '68 manual won't have side exhaust so it can't help, and often the manual isn't too clear to our eyes on some details, but it is the best start unless you find a car around somewhere to look at.

the insulation you refer to is available at major suppliers, my ass, manual shows it is configured identical to the rocker sill and suspect it sat on the frame rail ? maybe, that is all i have seen.

            Gary,

Original N14 cars have four pieces of insulation associated with the option. One piece on each side that covers the top and side of the framerail (below the doors). These two are fiberglass with foil backing on one side. There is also foam insulation on each side in the cut-outs of the rear wheelwells where the framerail end is exposed. These are all depicted in the assembly manual and each is available at Paragon Reproductions.
