Re: 1969 side pipes insulator
Scott,
Depending on how fast or how desperately you need one, you may want to shop around at swap meets, or the publications like the Driveline and Hemmings, or even eBay. Some parts suppliers like Paragon have them listed in their catalogs and from what I've seen they are priced somewhere in the neighborhood of $1100/pair. I don't know if the new pieces are sold separately or not. Also, places like Paragon Vintage may have a "single" that you would need. You won't know the price until they quote one, but with the price experiences I've had with some "vintage" pieces from SOME suppliers you'd think I was asking to buy the last artifact on Earth. Re: 1969 side pipes insulator
Of all the pieces that make up the 69 side exhaust cover the insulators are the most sought after and the most difficult to find. I looked for two years for one, Tom is spot on regarding $$. Paragon wouldn't part with one , holding out for pairs. I finally found a second set of restorable covers in which the piece I needed was acceptable but the other side wasn't, bought the whole thing for the insulator and have a bunch of spare cover parts should I decide to restore those pieces.

Re: 1969 side pipes insulator
What would be a reasonable price for the 69 side exhaust system without the mufflers? This would be for a complete set of insulators, three chrome covers per side, and even the steel mounting backet that goes at the front.- Top
