    1966 windshield

My customer needs a correctly dated 0 deduct w/s for his 66 coupe. I can't seem to contact Mr. Ray Morrision so I'll ask here. Who is the best source for this expensive part? Thanks Thad

        Is OEM glass 100% correct?

        Bill,

Does the glass from OEM pass muster in terms of font size and appearance of the LOF and related lettering? I was under the impression that the repro glass, even from OEM, was NOT dead nuts on because of some very minor, but detectable details.

I saw some replacement glass on midyears in Bloomington, and as I recall, there were telltale signs of laser etching on the surface. I don't know if they were OEM glass or not.....Craig

                contacting Ray Morrision

I've tried the number in the restorer. I left a message [voice and numerical] but no reply. I would hate to install a part that gets hammered at a regional or national! Thad

Well Thad...Regional, National, Local or even

                    in your own garage.

If your glass gets "Hammered" it will likely shatter...

What's the deduct for an etched LOF logo?

Since the windshield is worth 16 points for originality, what are we talking in terms of the deduct for incorrect lettering? 20-25% deduct?; 3-4pts? Since I've never judged exterior, I've never run across this question. Are there some more experienced judges out there who know the answer to this question?

The JUDGING REFERENCE MANUAL gives stanadard percentages for deductions of items on glass, batteries, tires, etc.
