    C2 fuel tank brace orientation

I can't determine the proper orientation of the brace from the AIM. The brace has two "rails" and on one rail there are two raised areas. Do the raised ares go to the front or rear? Another orienting feature, perhaps easier, is the bolt holes on the ends. On one end they are round, and on the other they are oblong. Do the round ones go on the right or left?

Steve, I currently have the body off my 65 Roadster and can help as I've taken digital pictures along the way. The raised areas you're talking about should be facing up toward the tank, and back toward the rear of the car. I noticed the bolt holes and bolt slots too, assumed them to be slotted on the one end to make installation of the brace easier.

        Thanks.

I took alot of pictures, but evidently not enough, because I couldn't find a "before" shot of the brace.

It can only work one way

The holes for the tank strap adjust bolts have to be facing forward to allow bolt insertion. As to which side is up, the 4 bolts aren't long enough if bracket turned over, and there's a non-friendly contact surface for the forward edge of the tank; nor can you attach the spare tire tub 2 rearward bolts.
