C2 radiator support repair

The lower face of my radiator core support is rusted out. A repair piece is available. My question is; how do you remove the piece to be replaced? There appear to be numerous spot welds along the edge which will have to be cut or drilled out. Am I on the right track?

Yes, you're on the right track. The old section has to be cut out at the welds and the new section properly aligned and welded back in.

They can be drilled out easily and the peices will come apart. I did discover after seperating the pieces that some of the rust was also in the upper frame. This required a little bit of sheetmetal work to correct.
