    Re: 64 DELCO RADIO PROBLEMS

    Randy,

Are you able to just faintly hear one or two stations under quite a bit of static with the volume cranked all the way up?

Randy, check the speaker wire connections on the back of the radio. Black connects at the top, next to the antenna entry and the green is in the center.

I had mine reversed and the problem sounds the same as yours.

            Hey Harry,
I checked the wire from the back of the radio and they are in the correct locations (hot-green to finned panel and black to ground on the case), but does that really matter? They are just going to the speaker and should be interchangable. At least I thought. I will try switching them anyway. My speaker is an aftermarket job and I wonder if that is complicating things? Thanks for the help, Randy

Everyone who might be considering have your radio restored.....
DONOT REPEAT DONOT use the Vendor---WonderBarMan in Tennesse. He charged me
for work that wasn't done properly. He cused me out on the phone.
He lied to me that my radio had fire damage. He then charged me a extra
$125 extra or he wouldn't return my radio.
He cashed my initial check of $350 and then sat on the radio repair for
2 months. I called him to ask for untouched radio back (he hadn't started
any repairs) and then told me it was his radio as far as he was concerned.
                This went on and on.
I finally got it back $425 poorer and it plays very poorly.
I have e-mail's from him with very poor comments about Corvette owners.
This guy even advertises in our NCRS Driveline.
