For NCRS or NCCB judging purposes, the waterpump should be dated within 6 months prior to the engine build date. The starter should be dated within 6 months prior to the car's build date. Typically, for a component like a waterpump, the actual time between engine build and waterpump cast date would be 2-4 weeks, maximum. The typical time lapse between starter date and car build date would be in the 2 to 10 week range. But, as I say, the "6 month rule" applies as far as NCRS/NCCB judging is concerned.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
