Looking for information from those that may have added fuel injection to a mid year big block. Units are available from Edelbrock and Excel - possibly others. Car is used for speed touring and as a driver. Please comment on quality of units, installation ease etc.
Several years ago I helped install a Holley TBI system on a 65 BB Corvette. The system installed well and started and ran well. It is still functioning well. Escentially a bolt on and drive away. Tuning is by adjusting a few small knobs on the computer box.
Recently I helped install a new Holley ProInjection on a small block Chevy. This system requires a laptop computer to load the initial setup in the FI computer and to tune the system. It was much more complicated to set up but with time and persistance can be made to function well. The new system uses an O2 sensor and provides almost unlimited tuning possibilities from idle to full throttle.
