    NEED HELP WITH DRIVERS MIRROR LOCATION

    I currently have my 65 coupe at the body shop getting ready to paint and the drivers door mirror had been taken off previously. I am trying to relocate the mirror but can't find any measurement for locating it on the door. I have searched the Assembly manual but nothing. Can anyone help with this. Thanks Sheldon

      My '66 AIM shows a metal mounting plate riveted to the inside of the door skin. Can you see the plate?

          Plate is missing from door. Have new one to put on but need location. AIM shows the parts but does not give measurements. Sheldon

              Here's some info...

              This info is from a '67 Convertible door. I believe it will be the same for yours - hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

              On mine, the front mounting hole looks to be 14 3/4" back from the leading edge of the door at the body line, measured along the body line. Both holes are 7 1/2" up from the body line measured with flexible tape tight on the curve of the body. I'm refering to the screw holes not the rivet holes. Good use for a paper template. Hope that helps. -Karl
