John is Co-chair of the NCRS National meeting in Windsor, Ontario this week, and extremely busy. You may have to wait for your answer. BTW, I always adjusted the valves on my LS-6 while running hot.
The issues discussed in the article only apply to small-blocks with stock stamped rockers; neither the procedure for determining actual stock rocker ratio (and its rate of change with lift) nor the tedious cam lift/crank angle diagram measurement have been done on any big-blocks.
I'll make you a deal Werner. You measure your OE rockers for their ratio behavior from the lash point to peak lift and I'll tell you the secret of how adjust the valves cold.
