    Carlisle here we come...

    All,

    We are looking forward already for half a year to visit the States and make our camper tour in the west coast area. I hope I will be able to meet some of the people who have provided us with excellent help during our car resto! I wonder if I have to buy a bright orange shirt (color of Holland since our queens sirname is "van Oranje Nassau") to make ourselfs known at Carlisle or if our picture on our restoration site is sufficient to recognize us ?

    During the Carlisle event I still have a few small items on our wish list so if any of the vendors who are also often visiting this forum have these items available please bring them along (59L parts, no repro's please):

    * Capacitor on the generator (1911095)
    * Capacitor on the alternator (1917580)
    * Capacitor on the coil (number unknown yet)
    * Flasher ZN232
    * Brace for emergency brake flasher
    * Horizontal interior SS moulding (above rear window)
    * Old NCRS restorers magazines
    * Corvette News maggies vol 1 nr 2-4, vol 2 nr 1-3, vol 3 nr 4 and vol 8 nr 5-6

    After Carlisle we will visit the Niagara Falls, a bit a Canada, Detroit and then cruise south and back to the coast. On the way we hope to visit ProTeam and maybe also drop by at Corvette Central. Other suggestions are more than welcome.

    greetings,
    Rob & Simone.

    Rob & Simone,

    It sounds like a great trip. May I suggest when you make your visit to Niagara Falls, you view it from the Canadian side. Not being biased (I am Canadian), the Canadian side has the best view of the Falls and many attraction that may be of interest. I heard that they built a new casino to compliment the usual wax museums and other odd attractions.

    I took a trip to Proteam myself last year and was very impressed by their inventory. So impressed, I was forced (not really) to buy a 1971 LT-1 from them.

    My wife and I will be making out first trip to Carlisle and can't wait to see what's in store. I wish you luck in obtaining what your looking for. I myself are in search for a few items.

      Robert is correct. You have to see it from the Canadian side. For some reason the U.S. doesn't take a lot of pride in it's side.

        Not only that, but we have the better side of the falls, it's more horseshoe shaped. The U.S. side is flat.

          Also, be sure to ride on the Queen of the Falls boat ride into the falls. Either wear a rain coat or stay inside the boat cabin ... it gets plenty wet.

          Have a great trip. Once you visit the US, you will want to return many times.

            Rob,
            What dates are you going to be in Detroit? On Aug 21st, there is one of the greatest and biggest car cruises in the world, its called the Woodward Dream Cruise. There will be over a million people and God only knows how many classic cars traveling up and down an 8 lane divided highway starting at least a week before the 21st. If you are going to be in the area during that time, let me know and myself and I'm sure many other Michigan NCRS members will show a good time!!

              Rick,

              I'm afraid we will arrive in Washington at the 20th and only recieve the keys to our camper on the 21th. So Detroit is a bit further in time on our programm. Pitty though because it sure sounds like a good show!!!

              greetings,
              Rob & Simone.

                Dito on Niagara Falls, I live in Bufffalo NY, and wouldn't go to the US side if I had a choice, in fact, I don't think I've ever been to the US side, but good luck getting over the Peace Bridge. See you in Carlisle!!
