Thanks to those of you who responded to my question regarding premature centering (canceling) of the turn signals on my 62. I resolved the problem by using the wire spring (the one that holds the arms in position against the pins) from my old assembly. The spring that came with the CC repro unit has a slightly thicker cross section than the original but did not retain its spring qualities when bent and therefore allowed the centering spring to over ride its positioning force.
As to the turn signal housing slipping on the steering column, I found the wedge to be worn. I used a shim made from a business card between the housing and the wedge to take up the slack. I also intalled a nylon washer on the wedge screw. this reduced the friction between the screw head and the housing enough to allow me to get a little more torque on the screw. FIXED.
Thanks
