    1965 350 hp carb adjusments

What we have is a 65, 350hp. The problem is the engine is surging at idle. The idle screws have no effect on the idle of the car, matter of fact the idle screws can be shut and the idle remains at 750-850 and surging. I have the correct fitting for the pcv on the side of carb, vaccum pulls 15+.

Anyone out there that has had similar problems or can tell me what I am doing wrong. The engine was pulling strong up till about a month ago. Its not drivin much during the week, Friday nights caused me problems, Saturdays and Sundays the problem disappears........no....avoiding Frdiday drives doesn't solve the problem

    Thaks fellas

The primary throttle shaft is open too far so it's idling on the transfer port instead of the idle mixture orifices; may be a linkage issue that isn't allowing the throttle shaft to close the butterflies to the idle position. Check the linkage from the pedal forward for free operation, disconnect the rod from the dash lever, and re-adjust so the linkage isn't holding the primary open - then you can adjust for proper idle speed and mixture.
