I have had less than acceptable operation from the cancelling device in my '57.
Often I could not turn on the right signal without turning the steering wheel slightly. Also, the left turn signal would often not cancel. I pulled the steering wheel (with the wheels straight ahead)and noticed that the two pins on the steering wheel were at the 2 o'clock position. I pulled the wheel on my '61 (which had not been tampered with and worked OK) and noticed that the pins were at 9 o'clock. I reassembled the '57 like the '61 and everything works fine except that I get a clicking noise when the wheel is turned a full revolution and back. The noise was present since I had the car. Any thoughts on what to do?
