    4 Speed shifter

What holds the reverse lock out rod in the T-handle? Mine keeps slipping out and falling thru and I think that is the problem with why I am having shifting problems? Could it be worn out?

If you have an original type shifter, the lock-out rod is held in by a set screw with an Allen head. If you have an aftermarket shifter, the rod is likely cut and bent a little to hold it in the T-handle.
