Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the alignment instructions or service manual for my Corvette radio, Model # 986281?

Sams Photofacts on the web can fill the order for your radio. You will need a VTVM and an O-scope to accomplish the task or send it to a radio man for a tune up.

In addition to HW Sams....

you'll find copies of the Chevrolet Radio Service And Shop Manual, Pub RS-42, on eBay from time to time. Plus, the independent AC-Delco/United Delco service centers around the country that specialized in radio repair typically have a full library of these pubs on hand along with the individual dealer service bulletins that updated the factory original repair manual.

In Denver, we simply pull the radio and walk it into Deluxe Speedometer who's an independent Delco dealership who's been doing radio, auto electric, and speedo/tach repair for YEARS.... Why not try your yellow pages and see if there's a similar independent Delco dealer in your neck of the woods?

The HW Sams pubs are good and readily available, but they're constructed based on reverse engineering vs. Delco's 'from the horsies mouth' narration. On the other hand, the HW Sams pubs give you BOTH Delco and 3rd party discrete component source identification (where substitute parts are applicable), while the Delco documentation only recited Delco part numbers....

I've emailed you the alignment instructions and parts list from Sams. If you need the schematic, and the rest of the Sams service manual contact www.justradios.com. I worked on mine a few years ago and found a replacement main transistor on the Radio Shack website.
