    side window adjustment

Finishing up the resto on my 67 conv. I know that fitting the side windows to the hardtop is necessary before I finish the soft top. Both side windows are low in the top rear corners relative to the hard top rubber molding. They appear well lined up in-and-out at the top but about a quarter to half inch low in the rear corner. All moldings and felts are new.

I have tried adjusting the vent windows and shimming the top of the rear channel but I seem to create more problems than I solve. Tilting the vent assy forward at the top and shimming the rear channel causes a conflict between the windshield frame and the upper vent window. It becomes difficult to close the doors and I see lots of pressure against the vent assy's. Even with minor adjustments, I see excess pressure on the vent window assy or no improvement in raising the back of the side glass.

What am I not getting here??? Help!

    Re: side window adjustment

    Don,

On a roadster there are two adjustments inside the door windows fore and aft. These are the adjustments that determine how high or low the side windows will be. They can be accessed thru the inspection hole in the door with the side window rolled nearly to the top. The rear is a Philips head screw and the front is a 7/16" bolt. These brackets have rubber stops on them to keep down the noise when the side window is rolled up. You will have about 3/4" adjustment and should solve your problem. You may have to tilt the front sash assembly forward (toward the windshield) to give adequate clearance.

With a little time and patience the adjustment will work out perfectly.

    Regards,

    JR

I think you need to raise the rear most bolt on the slide track attached to the door. It is this roller that positions the glass up and down. You may need to angle this track as mounted for proper window action.
