    firewall number on LH side

In cleaning up the firewall (engine compartment) I found the number 13 written on the driver side.

Was this number under the blackout? I believe mine was. Should I use a yellow crayon (looks greenish/yellow) over the number and then blackout over it?

Was this a job number? Car is red.

    thanks

Yup, Body Shop job number, later covered by engine compartment blackout.

I didn't realize that job #'s on '62 C-1's were on the driver side firewall, since my Midyear job # shows up on the passenger side. PT

John - Do the body shop numbers appear at other locations as well? My 62 has some numbers written on the inside of the RH fender panel that I observed when I had the kick panel out. Thanks for the insight...Dick

Yes, they appear in several places - I don't recall precisely where (it's been eight years since I did my '57), but they were scrawled on panels in the off-line subassemblies before the body was bonded together on the build truck.
