Sounds like this "howl" is coming from the rear end. Is quiet on acceleration and straight and level, but goes nuts on decel. Any particular thoughts? TIA

In the OLD days and I'm OLD we determined rear end noise by driving .
1. howl on ether acceleration OR decel, meant PINION bearings.
2. howl on turns left or right was AXLE bearings.
3. howl all the time CARRIOR bearings.
OR you may have lost pinion load on the pinion crush sleeve check to see if the pinion yoke nut came lose.
And Dennis your OLD and should know that.- Top

DC,
Mikey's rear end howls too. I'm sure it's for a different reason though.

well it's about time you show up again..
I was beginning to think you got lost in Canada. Haven't heard or seen much from you on this board since you posted warning that the "farm use" 61 was loaded up and you were heading out.
Now that the word is out on you in this git'up, I'm sure they will be look'in for a repeat performance at Carisle this year.
Don't let us down...
