C3 / Tire Lock Camber / No Key

Hello,

Thanks for your earlier response outlining the proceedure for removal of a Tire Lock Chamber from it's Shell. I would like to ask for the following additional assistance: what is the proceedure for removal of the Tire Lock Chamber if you do not have a working key for the lock?..I would like to remove the Chamber to re-key.

Mike, a good locksmith can pick the lock and remove the chamber and re-key the lock. I had mine done last year at Carlisle for $15.00

Also,

savvy locksmiths know the individual wafers (tumblers) in the lock cylinder were color coded (brass, nickle, Etc.) and the coding convention is defined in keys/locks section of the Chassis Service Manual. A good locksmith can clean up the existing lock and using a fiberoptic video probe, look down into the keyway and 'read' a lock's tumbler colors. Then, working backwards, go code cut a key for that lock....
