I don't think that is such a good deal for a piece to steel bent to a radius of 11 inches. If you look at the way the crossmember is made, it would be real hard to replace that section without leaving traces of the repair. I have done stuff similar to that but you have to have everything just right. The outer edges are electric welded or tack welded (not sure what to call it). That would be hard to duplicate unless you cut it so that section stayed and you welded to it.

I like projects like that but they are time consuming and results vary for me. I only know how to gas weld and you know how that goes. Plus, you really can't weld on a frame very well with the body on it.

Regardless, I wanted to try and keep my car as original as possible.
