64 corvette

64 coupe, not original motor, new motor is #3892657, listed as a 64 thru 67?
Dumb question, what side does the coil set on? Mine is on the passenger, but the manuals, books, show the coil on the drivers side?

Right side. What manuals, books are you talking about?

I beg to differ. The coil is on the driver side which is the left side.

I beg to differ. What engine (HP) are we talking about? My 365 HP has the coil on the passenger side next to the distributer.

I've never seen one other than on the RH (pass.) side. I would think the distributor shield would need to be different if there were two possible locations and I know for sure there is only one shield.

my 64 has coil on passenger side firewall. would be difficult on other side because of power brake booster.

All '64 coils are mounted to the right (passenger) side plug wire support bracket; none were mounted on the left (driver's) side or the firewall.

apparently bubba got hold of my coil after it left the factory. he gets around, doesn't he?

Sorry. I saw 64 but read 62. These old brains short circuit with some regularity.
