Can anyone tell me the proper antenna for a 1957 vette. I have heard controversy on this issue. Some people say the three part antenna is to go all the way down and others say the antenna stays above the black mount a ways. Which is right?

There are others on this discussion board that may be able to answer your question more completely. The repro antennas are not correct in that they will not recess into the fender as they did on the originals. They can be reworked so that they do but in any case, they did not recess all the way down. There was always about 6 or 8 inches exposed above the fender. -

John, the mast will stay above the fender by approx. 8" and will not go down into the fender as some people think. The main section on a 56 thru 60 will move approx. 2".Comment
