    C1 WIPER VACUME TANK

where does the vacume tank get vacume from on a 1959 230 hp?. The assembly manual shows it for the 245 hp dual fours, coming off the rear carburetor. I am running the correct WCFB carburetor.

    Regards, Steve

The base 230 hp 1959 WCFB mounts with three solid studs into the intake manifold. The driver's side rearmost stud is much longer AND hollow. It reaches down into the manifold runner and is exposed to manifold vacuum. This is where your vacuum supply originates. A rubber hose slips over the stud. There is also a "y" plastic fitting in the line to separate the vacuum source into two paths. One for the vacuum advance on the distributor and the other for the vacuum plenum can powering the washer system.

    Dale.

Once again Dale, Thanks so much. I know you hate to be called an expert, so, I thought about a new name for you "coach". You have coached me through most if not all of my big questions.

      Thanks Steve
