    C2 flywheel

Based on the excellent advise received here, I ordered a Luk clutch/pressure plate package from Dial A Clutch. Super fast delivery and great pricing. My flywheel has noticeable surface cracks so based on previous posts here I will buy a new one rather that have the old one machined. The problem is I can't find anyone listing a new flywheel for a '64. Any ideas?

P.S> The pilot bearing wouldn't come out with a puller so I used the wet toilet paper trick listed here some time ago and it popped out on the first whack. I was amazed. Great idea.

Any particular reason why you don't have the flywheel surfaced?
If it is not going to be subjected to constant high rpm and lots of abuse, it should serve you well for more years than you will see after having it surfaced.

      Hi David,

You have several availible on eBay now. Just type "Chevy Flywheel" in the eBay search field.

Glad your clutch deal worked out....

The last available GM flywheel for your application has been discontinued. However, there are still several options.

First, you should check with a LUK dealer. LUK manufactures high quality, replacement flywheels for most applications. What you require is a standard weight, 12-3/4", 153 tooth, for an internally balanced, 2-piece seal Chevrolet. These were used on many other Chevrolet applications and should not be too hard to find in the aftermarket.

Another option is to use a light weight flywheel as used for 1965 L-78 and 1967-69 L-88. For that application a GM flywheel is still available and is GM #14085720. Personally, I donm't like a light weight flywheel but a lot of folks do.

Thanks Joe, I will check with the same place I received my Luk clutch from. They didn't have it on their website so I assumed they didn't carry one. Bad assumption perhaps.

Tom, mine is looking pretty bad with a lot of surface cracks. Based on what I've read on this site, a new one will be the better option. And I want this thing to back to totally stock so there won't be any guesswortk with regards to pedal feel, etc.
