Mid Year Lower Front Panel Screws

Can someone tell me about the 2 screws attaching the lower front panel to my '63 SWC. They are just outside of where the front bumpers tuck under the car. The screws (part number 94-18566) are shown on sheet 4.00, section 11-13 of the AIM.

My questions are (1) What size are they including the depth and (2) what color should they be (i.e. body color, chrome, etc.)? I know that they require both a flat and split washer and affix to a reinforcement assembly.

Finally, I assume that the old bolts were not factory. They did not fully tighten so they may be either too big and/or too long. In addition, they have rusted and left a rust stain on the panel. What is the best way to remove the rust stain?

Thanks for your time and input.

Richard, Just checked the assembly manual first, cause its so damn cold in my garage, and you are correct about the lock and flat washers.Beyond that I ended up going out to look at our 66 anyway.Round head phillips 1/4 20 and 3/4"long.With that said, check the bracket to make sure that the threads are OK,and not stripped.I believe Long Island Corvette has the correct piece,if you have any doubt about correctness of a store bought bolt.I think L.I.C.s finish is even correct!............Bill S.

They were on the car when it was painted, thus they are body color.
