Fuel filter

Fuel filter

Can someone tell me what the "correct" fuel filter is for a 230hp 283 with a 1x4 carb. Is it the glass bowl type or the metal can type. thanks, Mike

With a 230 Hp 1 x 4 carb you have to be talking WCFB. These carbs have a sintered bronze filter element inside the inlet fitting, just like a later model Rochester. You have to be talking a 1958, 59, 60, or 61 Corvette.

There is NO external fuel filter, either metal or glass, used.

Mike, The base engine uses an internal filter in the inlet of the carb, the correct fuel line is one piece from the pump to the carb. John
