    1969 Hard starting

Our car is a 1969 427/400. The starter is turning over strong and it is not acting like it is flooded. However, it has to be pumped several times before finally firing. Once running there are no problems. It runs perfectly smooth. Thanks in advance for any advice.

How long do you let it set between start-ups? Overnight , or two weeks?

If it has just sat overnight, I would check the choke setting first. If it is correct, it sounds like the power valve in the carb might be leaking, allowing the carb bowl to drain. As inexpensive as the valves are, I would replace it and the gasket, making sure that you did get the correct number valve
