Any body know where I can purchase a 355 vacuum advance for my 327/300 hp base engine distributor? Service repalcement in their now. Any body at Carlisle selling these supposedly difficult to find original parts?
Dave Fiedler at TI Specialties used to have a pretty good assortment of NOS vacuum controls available. I don't know if he still does, or not. Otherwise, they'll likely be some for sale at Carlisle, both new and used. You can identify a used one by the "355" stamped on the bottom of the bracket section. I'd say that you're probably looking at about $100 for an NOS example.

I just had Dave Fielder(TI specialty) rebuild my 67 327/300hp distributor with a VC1810 vacuum can-(LT1 cam). I will be receiving back my original 355 can and you can have it! I'm not sure how long it will last, but Dave said it's still good. He thought it was a good idea to change on my "never to be judged" coupe. Send me your address if you want it.
