Corvette Ribbon - What is it?

I ran across this roll of ribbon recently - anyone have a clue what it's origin might have been? I lost my notes, think it's about 4-5 inches wide and 15-20 feet long.

OK 178 hits with no responce. Could it be Suspender material for the largest Corvette fan?

Al, is it embrodiered on a heavy cloth backing? If it is, then one possibility is it's a bulk roll of C4 cross-flag patches for...you know, those Corvette jackets or hats sold by Mid-America and others. The next step in the process would be a machine that cuts them to size and sews a binding on the top and bottom.

Chuck - Yes it appeared embroidered, and was heavy. your idea sounds right. But Brian's idea gives pause...
