I'm getting ready to start detailing my frame with the correct part number stencil and the hand written date. My car is a 1964 convertible with an indicated body build date of "E18" or January 18, 1964, this would have been a Saturday. The serial number of the car is 40867S109258. What would be an approximate date to be placed on the right frame rail with the white lumber crayon? From what I have read the date written on the frame is when the frame was pulled from inventory to begin assembly. Am I correct to assume it would be some time after the body build date? Say January 20th or 21st or should there be more time between the body build date and the frame/chassis build date?
Since they built 2105 cars during the month of January 1964 and my car is the 1167th car built during that month, what is the formula for figuring out the approximate day the car was built? Did the assembly plant work 6 or 7 days per week? Since the body has a Saturday date, I'm assuming they worked 6 days per week?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
