There was post a week or so ago about a coil being mounted on the left side of the engine.
I've never seen one myself, but, I did see last night in Nolands Corvette Technical Guide Vol2, page 226, a prototype L76 had the coil on the left.
I have one or two factory photos of a new 63 engine with the coil and bracket mounted on the incorrect left side. The engine was "dressed" at GM and used for photography. Items that were normally installed at the St Louis plant were installed at Flint instead. Obviously, the people in that department knew little about the correct assembly of all the components.
