Previous owner search (the continuing story)

    Hi all,

Yesterday I was lucky because I was able to contact one of the previous owner of our car after triing to contact him for appr. 20 times with as result ending up on an answering machine.

It turned out a very nice family and they have told me all kind of facts about the time they posessed the car.

    * He bought the car from ProTeam in April 1997
    * He updated the whole barke and system
    * Installed the white seats and interior accents
    * Revised the fitted Malibu engine and 65 transmittion
    * Installed new exhaust system

One of the aspect of his story is interresting to get more insite in some gabs in the timeline of previous owners of our car: he told us that he swapped the car against a '54 Vette with a Vette seller named Corvette City in Manchester, New Hamshire. It seems that this seller doesn't exist anymore. Does anyone know the owner of this former seller and/or his address information ?

When we bought the car from GMDownUnder (CA) last September, so I would like to check if they indeed have bought the car from this dealer when his dealership has been ended and when this happened.

    greetings,
    Rob.

    Rob,

I enjoyed your website but only looked at about 30 photos (a small portion of the total). I especially liked the one where the Vette fell on its nose off the trailer (funny for me, but not the owner).

You have a very, very pretty car. I like the Crown Sapphire/white combo.......outstanding! It looks like you are sparing no expense, but, be careful of the snakes. They'll bite you if you let them. Enjoy your baby, and bring her back to the USA sometime.

I'm getting "old and forgetful" but I seem to remember that John Danos was a big Corvette dealer in New Hampshire. Others, please correct me if I'm wrong. Chuck

I'm not sure if Danos owned Corvette City or not, but at one time he had a place in Hooksett,NH which was kind of high end. He had more 67 427 cars in one place than I had seen and they were about 30-40% above market price at the time. Corvette City seemed to me to be more of a place where someone could get a red Corvette for so much a month and that was the important aspect of the place.

Bill, you are right - Danos was in Hookset. I should have known better, as I drove by Corvette City in Manchester several days a month on the way to a client, Manchester Knitted Fashions on Bridge st.
            Sorry

              Hi Joe,

I'm glad you enjoyed our site. We are indeed very happy with our car although I get more and more pickier in getting her 100% correct. I which I had a chance to get it judged to get a clear list of what has still to be done to her. Almost every week I find another detail to correct (e.g. the correct clips are missing in the 'under dash area' and some bolts and nuts are missing here as well to hold the cockpit and windshield...

What do you mean with the expression: "be carefull of the snakes. They'll bite you if you let them." ? Don't know that one yet!

                Rob:

That is not a common American term, or slang, it is just one that I use from time to time. You are welcome to adopt it if you like. It means that not everybody in the car business are as altruistic as most of the folks on this Board. They will try to capitalize on your quest for perfection, and separate you from your money.

                Best regards,
                Joe

The dealer in Manchester, NH was Lussier's Corvette City. For a while he also was a Subaru dealer. No longer in business in New Hampshire but has a Corvette dealership in Florida. I don't remember the location but try a google search.
