    '63 instrument lights

Could someone tell me the best way to get at the parking brake and headlight warning bulbs on a '63. I'd also like to change out my speedo and tach cables. In short, how much disassembly is needed to get at these items? Thanks all!!!

Best way is to loosen the instrument cluster (5 screws) and pull it forward. This will give you access to tach and speedo cables. Once they are loose, you can pull it out a little further. You will probably have to loosen the steering column. Frequently, I also pull the steering wheel off, just to have extra working room. Disconnect the battery before you get into this. Could save you a lot of grief. Unless you have a service manual and/or a wiring diagram, be sure you have access to someone who has done this before. It's not that difficult, but all those wires can be intimidating if you are doing this for the first time and have no reference material.
