I realize this is a different kind of request for information but one I must ask. I'm restoring my '64 conv which requires replacing both Rocker Channels and Body Lock Pillars (also called the "B" pillar). When I removed the body I first noticed my #3 body mount wasn't even making a physical connection to the body. I have the parts, just would like to know the process used by others when replacing these kind of parts. OR, if anyone can recommend a body shop that specializes in this type of work in the Austin area that too would be welcome.

Re: Rocker Channel and Body Pillar Removal and Ins
Fred:
That is a monumental job, and unless the car has special value, I wouldn't touch it. Please explain the extent of the damage/corrosion. It is easier to REPAIR the channels, rather than replace, if the damage is localized. The B pillars are much harder to deal with.
I was able to fabricate and weld in new sections to replace badly corroded #3 mounts on both rocker channels. I removed the forward baffles in the rear wheel wells, and the quarterpanels. I inverted the body, and proceeded to repair. After grinding and filling, the repairs are undetectable. The door pillars are much harder to access, and require more disassembly.
