    NOS BB Flywheel-surface rust

I have an NOS GM Big Block flywheel that I pulled out of storage - only to find it got wet in the box and has surface rust on the machined surface. It is light - but there are rust pits. Can this be easily clean up at an engine machine shop ?

they can grind it smooth. make sure the crank mounting flange is rust free as that is the surface the flywheel grinder locates from

And after they surface the flywheel, have them balance it and the pressure plate you plan to run with it.
