Re: RC_15 for Tom DeWitt
Michael,
Essentially just like my original 1972 RC-15. Definitely different than the reproduction ones shown in my prior photos.
Any chance you will be at Carlisle and take the radiator cap with you? It would be nice to compare a 1966 to a 1972.

Re: RC_15 for Tom DeWitt
Patrick,
I would definitely like to go to Carlisle but I'm not going to be able to make it. If there are any specific areas of the cap that you need a close-up of, I can scan and send. (or post)
I noticed that the circle with AC in it seems to be rotated slightly CW. It's not in line with a centerline between the ears. Is this condition the same on your cap?

Re: RC_15 for Tom DeWitt
Mike,
Here's mine.
I thought it looked pretty straight to me....

Re: RC_15 for Tom DeWitt
Patrick,
That's interesting, the AC is straight or level on yours but the RC-15 on the other side appears to be rotated about 10 deg instead. I originally thought that all of the stamped characters were done at the same time with one stamp which would have made their positions consistant but it looks like that's not the case.- Top

Re: RC_15 for Tom DeWitt
Patrick - Although the stampings on the top of the cap seem to be basically the same '66 to '72, I curious about some difference that would provide for distinguishing between the caps. Is the large washer directly under the cap brass and stainless steel? Along with the rivet configuration, I'm curious if that washer is another configuration difference between the '66 cap and the '72 cap. Pete- Top
