    originality

I was wondering if there is any resource available to find what original options came with my 1965 Convertible. I have several options on my car but I am not sure if they were added later or not. Does anyone know of any resource if I provide the VIN? When I owned a Mopar I was able to get a copy of the window sticker but I am not sure if GM or anyone else has that ability.

    Thanks in advance,
    Gary

    Gary -

Nope, there are no production records available for any St. Louis-built Corvette, and "tank stickers" that listed options didn't start until 1967. You have to dope it out using various "clues" and details that appear to be original; the NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide for your year car and the corresponding Assembly Manual are the best starting points (both are available from the on-line store, button at the top of the page), plus help from knowledgeable '65 folks in your local NCRS chapter.

      Gary:

Unfortuneately, we are not so lucky with GM assistance as you are with Mopar vehicles. Starting in 1965 and continuing thru 1972, GM issued a metal credit card sized plate that contained the all important drivetrain information. These plates were usually attached to a owners manual inside flap (rear I think) or a fold out warranty pamphlet with it attached to the back flap.

Those Corvettes built starting 1967 thru 1973(and later?) had a copy of the build sheet glued to the top of the gas tank. These were invaluable as far as stating what options the vehicle was assembled with.

Other than being fortunate enough to have the original window sticker or dealer sales invoice. I believe these would be your only other possibilities.
