' coupe a c equipped heater core replacement job craig jewett i am planning to replace the heater core sometime soon before it takes a leak on the carpet i am looking for any suggestions that would make this job go smoother and easier what other parts should i order with the core is any vendor's replacement better than the rest thanks in advance guys

re ' coupe a c equipped heater core replacement job brandon korman i've got the whole a c system apart on my project car so maybe i can shed some light on the heater core replacement for you first of all check with the last detail on the core itself they seem to have the best prices also since you need to pull the entire inside a c box out you probably will want to replace all the seals the best kit is from dr rebuild also check out the hot water valve operation and the heater hoses the best hose kit is also available from dr rebuild the job is a lot easier with the dash removed but i'm sure it can be done with it in place the last thing you might want to check are the speed nuts which hold the box on to the firewall if these are rusty then you may want to change 'em -
