On the way to work I saw the coolest station wagon conversion. I think it was a 57ish, all black and looked just aweomse. I've never seen one of this vintage, seen the greenwoods of the 70's vintage but this was very cool looking.

Scott,
I do not know where you are located but... About four years ago Hot Rod Enterprises out of Auburn WA built a 55 Corvette Nomad. He took the Nomad body grafted 54 style tail lights on it and put a late model Covette front running gear with a 55 corveete front clip. It was powered by a Mercury marine built Corvette motor. I was in his shop a number of times during the build. The guy is a perfectionist and this showed through in the quality of the vehicle. If you did not know better you would swear it was a factory issued car. David Bodily- Top

I believe the car being discussed was built for a gentleman from Washington named Armstrong. He also owned (just sold) Grand Sport number 3 for a long time.- Top

There is another Nomad Corvette in the Pittsburgh area built my friend and Pittsburgh chapter member Ron Booher. This car is gorgeous, 56 Nomad body, 57 Corvette front end and rear end. Four speed manual transmission. Much of the car was hand crafted by Ron. Beautiful ice blue metallic lacquer paint with cream white coves. Car was at the Pittsburgh chapter Regional at Seven Springs last year,at the Straight Axle Club Convention in California last year and at Corvettes at Carlisle two years ago.
Ron is a true craftsman.
