Re: C1 Rear End Ratio Change speed chart

My 62 has 4.11 gears and I am thinking about moving to a better crusing ratio. What parts does it take to change the ratio?

Re: C1 Rear End Ratio Change speed chart

I presently have 4:11's in my '64 and as noted are a great 'fun gear' for most anything other than freeway cruising. When freeway cruising I don't know if it's a combination engine revs, noise, C2 seat comfort, etc. - but I find myself feeling weary and a bit worn out in an embarrassingly short distance! .. I bought a 3:08 pumpkin as a replacement for the 4:11's as I'd like to do some long distance traveling in my car once all the mechanicals and paint are finished. From reading this thread it sounds like 3:08's coupled with a WR trans, which my car has, makes for a decent combo taking into account the tall gear ratio. One question I have in mind is: What's the low speed engine performance like with 3:08 gears coupled with a mild performance cam .. ? ..

Here's a link to a rear end ratio calculator.
