C1 front carb for early 1961 283/245hp 2x4bbl

Any help would be appreciated on this one:

My early '61 (built about 11/15/60) is a 283/245 2x4bbl car. The back carb is correct but the front carb is not. I know that the front carb is not suppose to have a choke. My question is this: does the original Carter 0-049 front carb have mounting holes for a choke or are the mounting holes omitted?

As I recall, the correct air horn on the front carb had no holes for the choke shaft; maybe others can confirm.
