I am assuming lubricant goes on the the throwout bearing where it meets the fingers of the pressure plate. Correct?

Re: Throw-out bearing question C2
David,
Good question and my answer would be yes and no. If you put any lubricant on the face of the throwout bearing it should be no more than a slight wipe of the finger. Too many clutch discs have been destroyed by over zealous lubing of the throwout bearing.
I do not use any lubricant and have never had a problem with the bearing making a noise when it contacts the fingers. If lubricant is used it will be gone in just a few pushes of the pedal. Nothing to hold it there and the throwout bearing will sling it on the bellhousing. Too much and it slings it all over the place ruining the clutch disc.
Also, do not get over zealous and lube the fork where it contacts the throwout bearing. Just a very little on the finger will do the trick. A smudge or less.
Hope this helps,

No, no, no! Read your shop manual! Do you have a GM service manual for your year car?
Pack the recess on the TO bearing ID - the surface that slides on the input shaft collar - and coat (thin) the groove where the bearing is held by the clutch fork. Also put a dab of grease on the fork ball stud.
No grease should be applied to the clutch finders or TO bearing area that bears against the clutch fingers, and be sure you understand how to install the TO bearing on the fork.

Re: Throw-out bearing question C2
I ordered the clutch fork from Paragon. Attached with wide clear shipping tape to the underside of the fork was a rather large tube of lubricant. By large I mean the size of a travel tube of toothpaste. That as compared to the LUK clutch set that I received from Dial-A-Clutch that came with a small tube of lubricant about one inch long. I assumed that was for the pilot bearing, which is where it went in any case. The Paragon order was only for the clutch fork, no throw out bearing or anything else so you can imagine I was a little surprised by the tube. I guess they're use to people buying the full package from them. Regardless, it was a nice touch. But then it should be for $95.- Top

Re: Throw-out bearing question C2
Paragon also has a fork they sell for 64-67 for about that price. I actually bought one from them (my car is a 64). When it arrived, I realized the fork and all rods etc that was already in my car was a '63 set-up. So I went back and ordered the 63 fork which is much higher priced. I could have switched over to the later one but I didn't want to hassle with all the different rods and I knew the set-up I had worked perfectly. I'm a price shopper but I also don't mind paying a little more for what I know will work perfectly.- Top

Hold on now...
Clem - I assume your response was posted before you saw my last posting about the '63 fork. You guys are starting to give me a complex so I checked the Corvette Central catalog on line and they list the '64-67 at $57 and the '63 at $94. And both came with the K-Y, ehh I mean lubricant.- Top
